Abstract
Introduction: The subject of the study is Clinical Supervision in Nursing, which has been recognized in the professional environment as a powerful resource for the development of professional skills and improvement of the quality of care provided, in addition to providing security and professional satisfaction.
Objective: To identify the interventions and strategies that apply in the field of clinical supervision in nursing.
Methodology: To achieve the proposed objective, a literature review was carried out from November 2021 to January 2022, using the electronic database platform EBSCOhost; and the investigation question was refined through the PICO method, which guides towards a more precise definition, leading the research to: what interventions and strategies for clinical supervision in nursing? The critical analysis of the 9 selected articles enabled the intended understanding of the study.
Results: The main results, concerning interventions and strategies, were presented in 4 topics: 1. Training of preceptors/tutors; 2. Building an Effective Interpersonal Relationship; 3. Formal planning of the process, including strategies such as debriefing, looping, grids for checking competence acquisition, among others; and 4. Organizational Responsibility, including the necessary resources (time, financial and human).
Discussion and conclusions: Clinical supervision should be a formal process, with involvement and accountability on the part of the organizations involved, in order to encourage and guarantee resources for its development. On the other hand, supervisors must have training for their technical and relational functions, which makes it possible to build effective relationships with those supervised.
