Abstract
Context: It is particularly necessary and contemporary to discuss the nursing leadership and its influence on the team dynamics. Good leadership is the basis for maintaining motivated teams, a good environment in the workplace and the consequent quality of the care provided. Effective leadership encourages nurses' behavior. Thus, it is important to deepen and promote the results obtained, within the scope of this theme; Objective: This study of systematic review of the literature intends to verify whether there is scientific evidence of the effects of leadership in nursing on the dynamics of the team; Methods: Systematic literature review on the effects of nursing leadership on team dynamics, in the CINAHL Complete databases; MEDLINE Complete; Nursing & Allied Health Collection: Comprehensive; Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials; Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews; Cochrane Methodology Register; Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts and MedicLatina, from the EBSCOhost platform, using the following keywords: “leadership, style, nursing team”; Results: The review covered 5 studies. In general, the articles had nurses as participants. All the articles analyzed addressed the theme of leadership within the nursing team. The main results identified were that the leadership style influences the dynamics of the team; Conclusion: The results show that the nursing leadership style can influence, positively or negatively, the team dynamics. These results suggest that the type of leadership adopted by the nurse manager is extremely important for the organization's effectiveness in providing health care.
